We invite for regular trainings and workshops of the southern style of kalarippayattu (tekkan)

Training consists of learning such elements as: traditional salutation, dynamic sequences of movements simulating fight, empty-hand attacks, as well as equipped in weapons (long bamboo sticks, short sticks, knives and others), application of locks that overpower opponent, as well as weight and stretching exercises, including elements of acrobatics. The fighting technique is based on the system of precise kicks, blows, cuts and jumps aimed at vital points of the body, therefore presicion, strength and relfex are important.

Through physical exercises, students shape their spiritual attitude. Facing new challenges, they train their strong will, determination and patience. They overcome their barriers and discover possibilities of their body and mind.

Kalarippayattu is a proposition for all interested in search for a new way of movement based on conscious work on one’s own spirit which at the same time allows physical expression of one’s own temper. Practice requires perseverance, attention, concentration and spiritual involment, combining development of body and spirit in an individual process of each disciple. Kalarippayattu - apart from being worth of attention as a martial art itself - can be also helpful for adepts of yoga (due to more dynamic training), actors and dancers (du to exercises channelling energy, developing body expression, strength, concentration and also offering a new fields of exploration in body work).
